Task 11: Recommended tools for social media engagement
Facebook is definitely a social media tool that benefits libraries. Everyone is on it, it's extremely interactive: the library can post information about the library (events, new books, workshops) and the clients can leave comments and feedback. It can also be linked to the library Instagram page.
Youtube is another social media tool that benefits libraries. The library can post videos about the library, author visits, book readings, staff picks, information on up coming events - pretty much anything related to the library. People are able to leave comments which allows the library to see what the clients think of these videos and it's content.
The good thing about both these social media tools is that they are free to use and doesn't take much effort (or cost) for the library staff to post the content. It's instant and direct.
